AKIPRESS.COM - 3,500 education, cultural and healthcare facilities in Kazakhstan do not correspond to the requirements of protection from terrorist threats, Speaker of the Mazhilis of the country Nurlan Nigmatulin said today at the Parliament session, Vlast.kz reported.
The First Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Finance Alikhan Smailov, in turn, said that the municipalities will not be able to re-alocate funds allocated for protection of objects and other goals from January 1, 2020.
The lack of funding is a reason for this, Nigmatulin continued.
According to the anti-terrorist center of the National Security Committee, 35% of 10,000 objects are mainly healthcare, cultural and educational facilities.
Deputy Chief of the anti-terrorist center staff German Didenko noted that there are a total of 17,000 facilities that are of various ownership form. The requirement of protection from terrorist threats should be controlled by special commissions under municipalities.
