2 cases of imported measles from Kazakhstan recorded in Bishkek

AKIPRESS.COM - 2 cases of imported measles from Kazakhstan were recorded in Bishkek, said the chief doctor of the Center for State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision of Bishkek Ryspek Sydygaliev on Dec 16.
According to him, in both cases there were children under 1-year-old. They were hospitalized and received all necessary medicines.
Measles is a highly contagious infectious disease caused by the measles virus. Symptoms usually develop 10-12 days after exposure to an infected person and last 7-10 days.
Initial symptoms typically include fever, often greater than 40 °C, cough, runny nose, and inflamed eyes.
