March 15 might be announced as national forest planting day in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - The parliamentary committee on agrarian policy on December 16 is considering the draft resolution of the Parliament of Kyrgyz Republic on announcement of March 16 as a National Forest Planting Day.
The idea was initiated by MP Ainura Altybayeva.
According to her, this initiative is aimed at beautification of the whole country amids deterioration of the environmental situation.
The idea to announce this date emerged in cooperation with specialists and experts after taking into consideration the peculiarities of all regions of the country, Altybayeva noted.
According to representative of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, 5.61% of the territory of the country are occupied by forests. 1,100 ha of lands are plated by trees annually, he added.
Chairman of the committee Nurbek Alimbekov proposed to change the word "forest into trees" in the initiative.
