Kyrgyzstanis to use biopassports in 2021: State Registration Service

AKIPRESS.COM - The biopassports are planned to be used in 2021, said the chairman of State Registration Service Almaz Mambetov at the press conference in Bishkek on Dec 19. According to him, the trials on biopassports, which were announced in 2018 are still ongoing.
Mambetov noted that the issuance of biopassports was suspended due to trials, so it will take up to a year to announce new tender.
"To date, the negotiations on the equipment delivery are ongoing with European and Japanese companies. We will use biopassports in 2021. Our main purpose for the next 2 years is to regulate the technical part, so we would produce passports, driver's licenses and certificates," said Mambetov.
