AKIPRESS.COM - A local activist of Shymkent Nurzhan Muhammedov on December 19 was sentenced to 40 hours of public works and fined $32 for 'insulting public officer'. Muhammedov said that he does not agree with the guilty verdict. His supporters were shouting "Maskara!" (Disgrace) towards the decision against the activist.
On the day of hearing, about tens of supporters of the activist gathered near the court.
Muhammedov denies the accusations.
The verdict was handed amid the recent calls of the activist to find the organizors of attack on Muhammedov. Muhammedov told Azattyk that the unknown on November 19 damages his car and threw the cut head of a dog into the car. The activist thinks that it was linked with his civil activities.
Muhammedov earlier participated in the protest actions in support of political convicts, single mothers and anti-Chinese rallies.
