Tokayev speaks for reform of Kazakh language

AKIPRESS.COM - All aspects of introduction of the new alphabet should be analyzed, President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said at the session of the National Council of Public Trust. The head of state said a scientific approach is needed for this problem. It is not only transition into a Latin script, but also a reform of the whole Kazakh language, he added.
A schedule of transition of the Kazakh alphabet to the Latin scrip was confirmed in 2018 in Kazakhstan.
The new Kazakh alphabet in Latin script was confirmed in February 2018. Tokayev ordered to improve it in October 2018. Later, he rejected all three versions of the Kazakh language in Latin.
