Maternal mortality rate in Kyrgyzstan decreases by 10% - Health Ministry

AKIPRESS.COM - The maternal mortality rate in Kyrgyzstan decreased by 10% and totaled 24.7 per 100,000 live births in 11 months of 2019, the Health Ministry reports. The current index was 30.6 per 100,000 live births in 2018.
The ministry briefed on the conducted work to improve the quality of providing medical aid to the pregnant women, woman in labor new mothers.
The state funding for the purchase of contraceptives for women from high medical and social risks of maternal mortality groups increases by 1 million soms annually.
In addition, the inter-sectoral coordination board on reproductive health services of population was created for coordination and interaction of state bodies, public, religious, international organizations and institutions, media and civilian sectors.
