National Infectious Diseases Hospital overcrowded with patients, mainly young children with respiratory viral infections

AKIPRESS.COM - The number of patients seeking medical assistance from the National Infectious Diseases Hospital is growing, Hospital Chief Gulzhigit Aaliev said. 822 people visited the reception department of the hospital for 2 days. 165 of them were taken to hospital, 100 of them had acute respiratory viral infection (mainly young children).
The work load on hospital personnel has abruptly grown, doctors work without days off.
The hospital is overcrowded now with 468 patients in total, 40-50 patients in each unit. Patients with acute respiratory viral infection make 254, mainly children.
The hospital management has asked citizens to apply to Family Medicines in case they have signs of respiratory infections. The hospital should be visited upon recommendation of the Family Medicine Center doctors.
