Ice cream production 61% up in Mongolia

AKIPRESS.COM - Mongolia produced 902.4 million liters of milk in 2018, including 11,500 tons of camel milk, 83,900 tons of mare milk, 553,300 tons of cow milk, 103,800 tons of sheep milk, 149,800 tons of goat milk.
By the end of 2018, the country had 230 dairy plants, 72 workshops and refrigerating centers employing 1,238 people.
The installed capacity of milk processing industry makes 928 million liters a year with the capacity used just at 8-10%. In 2018, some 134.9 million liters of milk were processed.
This is for 55.8% more than in the previous year. Production of ice cream grew by 61%, production of sour cream went 171.9% up, cheese cottage grew by 91.5%.
The results for 2019 are yet to be publicized.
