Mining works suspended in Kumtor until obtaining permits

AKIPRESS.COM - Mining works are suspended in the Kumtor gold mine until obtaining the necessary permits from controlling bodies, said spokesperson of the Kumtor Gold Company Marina Gavrilova.
Mining, drilling and blasting operations were suspended, the rest of the company's structure is working in normal mode, she said.
The company's order dated 1 January 2020 signed by Kumtor Gold Company President Deon Badenhorst stated that the mine has been declared idle due to the absence of mining permits for 2020 and the temporary suspension of mining and drilling operations.
