Some 16% of Kyrgyz population constantly do sports: State Sports Agency

AKIPRESS.COM - The average number of people who systematically engaged in physical culture and sports reached 16% or 150 people are constantly do sports per 1,000 population, according to the medium-term strategy of budget expenditures for the ‘Youth, physical education and sport' sphere for 2020-2022.
Kyrgyzstan has over 100 types of sports. Over 250 sport events of state and international scale and over 400 sport competition of regional and district status are held annually. Kyrgyz athletes participate in over 100 international competitions.
To date, the republic has about 100 sport facilities with the personnel of 1,599 coaches.
The program is aimed at engaging up to 20% of population to do sports and increase a number of people who constantly engaged in sports and physical culture.
