Kazakhstani air companies recommended to avoid flying over Iran

AKIPRESS.COM - Kazakhstani air companies were recommended to avoid flying over Iran, the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development said.
The recommendation followed the Ukrainian plane crash in Iran leaving 176 people dead. Air Astana and SCAT air companies operate flights through the Iranian airspace.
Air Astana operates a flight from Nur-Sultan to Dubai 5 times a week and from Almaty to Dubai 10 times a week through the Iranian airspace.
SCAT Airlines operates two regular flights from Almaty to Medina and Jeddah once a week and two irregular flights from Almaty to Sharm El Sheikh and from Shymkent to Sharm El Sheikh through the Iranian airspace.
Both companies said on January 8 that they would change the flying route avoiding Iranian airspace.
