AKIPRESS.COM - The "Oimo-Kysh 2020" festival is taking place in Karakol town of the Issyk-Kul region for the first time, Turmush reports. The ethnic Kyrgyz and representatives from all region of the republic will take part in the festival, which will last until Jan 12.
"Karakol is a multicultural town. Dunghan craftswomen showcased their works and Pamir Kyrgyz represented their products made from leather. The festival participants exchanged their experience. This festival strengthens cooperation between craftsmen," said festival participant Damira Abdybekova.
According to the organizers, the festival is aimed at development of cultural tourism in the region, as well as promotion of craft products as a part of tourism industry.
The round table discussion on promotion of tourism industry in Kyrgyzstan was held within the framework of the festival.
