AKIPRESS.COM - A traffic jam of about 200 trucks occurred near the Ak-Tilek checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border as of January 10, the Transport Committee of the Kazakh Ministry for Industry and Infrastructure Development said.
Most of them are carrying consumer goods from China, the statement said.
"The checks are focused on consumer goods, presence of necessary documents for the cargo is checked by state revenue employees of Kazakhstan since early 2020," the statement said.
Earlier, the Kyrgyz government said Kazakhstan has introduced additional checks of goods at the border and called it a violation of rules of the Eurasian Economic Union.
