AKIPRESS.COM - A number of traffic accidents and traffic jams will be decreased with the introduction of new traffic rules in Kyrgyzstan, said head of road inspection of the road police Talantbel Ibrayev. Interior Ministry developed a new traffic rules instead of old one, which was adopted in 1999.
The draft of new traffic rules was submitted for public discussion.
According to Ibrayev, the road police believes that the number of automobile-pedestrian accidents will decrease since introduction of new rules. "We have prescribed that pedestrians walking along the roadway at night time should have light-reflective elements on their clothes. We hope that our citizens will obey the traffic rules and traffic accidents will be reduced," he said.
"We also expect that traffic accident involving animals will decrease. We introduced regulation, which envisages that cattle breeders are responsible for animals and should keep an eye on them," he added.
Following the new traffic rules, the bus drivers should load and unload passengers only on bus stops. This will decrease a number of traffic jams in the city, Ibrayev said.
