AKIPRESS.COM - The General Prosecutor's Office of Uzbekistan said it is working on bringing valuables seized during the search of Gulnara Karimova's villa in Geneva back to Uzbekistan. The valuables seized in Gulnara Karimova's houses in Uzbekistan are estimated at $1.3 million. The General Prosecutor's Office said it cooperates with authorities in Switzerland, Russia, France, Latvia and other countries on return of the assets illegally obtained by Gulnara Karimova.
Together with the Swiss Federal Prosecutor's Office the work is carried out to achieve recognition of 70 art items the national wealth of Uzbekistan. They were found and seized from Karimova's villa in Geneva.
Earlier, 985 art items were found and seized from Karimova's houses in Uzbekistan. They were recognized as cultural valuables estimates at $1.3 million.
The art works were nationalized and handed over to the State Applied Art History and Artisanship of Uzbekistan, State Historical and Culture Museum of Ferghana region, State Museum of History and Culture of Andijan region, Chirchik historical museum.
