Labor Ministry lists requirements for foster families

AKIPRESS.COM - The foster family services provided to over 150 children from a deprived background in the republic, said Labor Ministry. To date, the work on development of foster families institutions is ongoing, the statement said.
The foster family may take care of a child by concluding ‘child transfer' agreement. The foster families should comply with specific requirements and receive training. Each foster family may take up to 3 children aged under 16. A total number of own and adopted children should not exceed 5 children. The citizens who want to adopt children should contact the district department of labor and social development at the place of residence.
Kyrgyz citizens who has reached the age of 30 years and not older than 65-year-old, received trainings and statement from authorized body on child protection may become foster parents.
Labor Ministry pays wages for foster families in the amount of 6,000 soms, as well as 6,000 soms for child support.
