Speaker Jumabekov calls on policemen to reinforce work on prevention of domestic violence

AKIPRESS.COM - The whole world have the impression that Kyrgyz men behave badly towards women due to the latest cases on domestic violence, said Speaker Dastan Jumabekov at the parliament meeting on Jan 15.
"I want to say that Kyrgyzstan has never had such cases. There might be various situations, but the main reason for such cases is alcohol or drugs. Sometimes it may be jealousy, relationship with relatives or family welfare," said Jumabekov.
Speaker called on citizens to address to law enforcement agencies on this issue. "The suppression of these cases may cause death," said Jumabekov.
Speaker urged policemen to reinforce work on prevention of domestic violence.
Jumabekov called on Kyrgyz men to respect their families, wifes and sisters.
