Uzbekistan to create online map of pollutions

AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan plans to create the online map of pollutions that will measure condition of air, water and land resources, the State Environmental Protection Committee said.
Until recent time, the monitoring in different areas was conducted by the State Environmental Protection Committee, Uzbek Meteorological Office, State Geology Committee, Ministry of Water Resources, Ministry of Health. The State Forestry Committee has joined the monitoring process now.
"The information from other agencies reached the Environmental Protection Committee with delay, which impedes to timely control and response," the Committee said.
Since 1 January 2021, automatic stations should be installed at entities posing high risks of environmental impact. Stationary posts will be installed at the nearby territory.
The Environmental Protection Committee plans to set up a network of automatic air pollution measuring stations across the country and to introduce the information system to collect the monitoring data.
