Kadji-Sai residents ask to complete recultivation of remained tailing dumps- MP

AKIPRESS.COM - Kadji-Sai village residents of Ton district asked to resolve the issue of completion the re-cultivation of remaining tailing dumps, said MP Irina Karamushkina at the parliament meeting on Jan 16. According to her, the tailing dumps remained after uranium mining in Soviet times and local residents asked to check and provide them with official information on radiation security and on harm to health.
"Last year, Rosatom corporation completed the re-cultivation of 11 ha of tailing dumps. 20 ha of tailing dumps remained there. 32 families living in this area addressed to director of corporation Alexei Lihachev with request to complete the re-cultivation of remained dumps. Lihachev replied that government should officially address and works will be conducted at the expenses of CIS Executive Committee budget," she said.
