AKIPRESS.COM - The bill softening punishment for libel and defamation was published online for public discussion. The bill was drafted by the Information and Mass Communication Agency by the order of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The libel and defamation are suggested to be fined instead of prison term as now.
According to official reports, 6,967 people were imprisoned in Uzbekistan in 2019.
