Kyrgyz Historical Museum to be involved into program of cross year of Kyrgyzstan, Russia

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Historical Museum of Kyrgyzstan will be involved into the program of events of the cross year of Kyrgyzstan and Russia, Minister of Culture, Information and Tourism Azamat Jamankulov said.
"We will try to get the Historical Museum involved into the events, since it is necessary," the Minister said.
The Minister added the Fine Arts Museum will be closed for renovation in future.
The talks are underway to secure funding, he said.
The State Historical Museum was closed for renovation on 25 March 2016. The refurbishment was carried out under the agreement between the Kyrgyz government and Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency.
Over $15 million was planned for rehabilitation. The first stage of rehabilitation was accomplished by the 25th anniversary of Kyrgyzstan's independence on 31 August 2016. The next phase was completed by early 2018.
In July 2018, the General Prosecutor's Office said the criminal probe was launched into purchase of equipment for the Historical Museum. The procuratorial authorities found misuse of 118.215 million soms.
