AKIPRESS.COM - A feasibility study of second construction of the light rail transit of Nur-Sultan is being developed today, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported.
According to head of the architecture department of the city Nurlan Urankhayev, if the government won't reject saying the LRT is not purposeful, then it will be built.
"The feasibility study will be ready and we will send it for check," he noted.
The check will show weather the second phase of construction will be continued, he said.
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev in July 2019 criticized the construction of the LRT in Nur-Sultan saying he does not believe in its profitableness.
The project was planned to be completed by December 2019 and launched in summer 2020. However, construction was terminated in April 2019 due to the problems with funding from the Chinese investors.
