Lawmaker asks to raise salaries of librarians in Kyrgyzstan

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Dastan Bekeshev (SDPK) asked to raise the salaries of librarians of Kyrgyzstan. "We have a cultural treasury - the National Library. There are a lot of good, old, rare books. But let's look at the salaries of librarians: basic wage of the ordinary librarian is 5,000 som, head of the department - 8,000 som, director - 9,000 som," he said during the Parliament session today.
The MP asked to allocate money to buy a vacuum cleaner. Some of the librarians that have been working there for 40 years live in dormitories, according to him.
Bekeshev also reminded about the capital repair of of the theaters and a philharmonic in 2019. The parliamentarian urged to continue the work.
