Growth in salaries does not correspond to growth in prices for food in Kyrgyzstan: MP

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Aaly Karashev raised concerns over the inflation situation, according to him, inflation has sharply grown by 3.1% last year.
Speaking at the parliament session, Karashev said the prices for food and soft drinks increased by 5.7%, while average monthly salary grew by only 5.3% during the year.
"The growth in salaries does not correspond the growth in prices for food by 0.4%," he said.
"What does it mean? It means the level of life has downed again? In 2018, inflation was 1.5%, while salaries grew by 5.9%. This moment needs to be taken into account," he said.
