U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo to visit Kazakhstan in February 2020

AKIPRESS.COM - The U.S. State Secretary Mike Pompeo will arrive in Kazakhstan on February 1, Foreign Minister of the country Mukhtar Tileuberdi told journalists. The purpose of the 2-day visit and discussions was not voiced.
Pompeo planned to visit Kazakhstan on January 5, 2020. He planned to meet with President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and discuss bilareral ties.
However, Pompeo cancelled his trip due to the recent events in the U.S. Embassy in Iraq on January 2. The previous meeting of the Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan and the U.S. State Secretary was held in Washington in December 2019.
