Uzbekistan publicizes officials fined for forced labor in cotton harvesting

AKIPRESS.COM - Some 43 officials were fined in Uzbekistan for forced labor in cotton harvesting in 2019, the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations said. The Ministry has published the list of violators, including two district governors, 5 district vice governors, top managers of banks, school principals, hospital chiefs and other officials.
The violators were fined from $234 to $701.
