Kyrgyz border villagers ask to release 2 men detained after Kyrgyz-Tajik border incident

AKIPRESS.COM - Natives of Ak-Sai and Kok-Tash villages of Batken region, who temporarily work in Russia now, urged the members of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan to release the villagers, who were detained after the latest border conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border.
The request of the migrant workers in Russia was voiced by MP Karamat Orozova in Parliament today.
The lawmaker said the citizens of Kyrgyzstan working in Russia now are concerned about the situation in their home region.
"They ask the Kyrgyz authorities to defend their parents, children and to resolve border issues as soon as possible," the MP said.
Four men were detained on January 11 following the Kyrgyz-Tajik border incident.
Two Kok-Tash villagers were released and placed under house arrest on January 17. One of them, Uson Saparbayev, has a second degree disability. Another, Ulukbek Saparbayev, is father of 5 children and the only bread winner in the family.
Two still remain in detention for 2 months - Zainidin Berdiyev and Nurlan Saparbayev. They are accused of mass riots and illegal bearing of weapon.
