AKIPRESS.COM - Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin held meetings with representatives of the foreign business, governmental and expert circles in the field of digitalization and innovation, who arrived in Almaty for participation in the Digital Almaty forum, the press service of the PM reported.
At the meeting with Liam Maxwell, Director of the Government Transformation at Amazon Web Services, Mamin discussed implementation of the Edge Point of Presence project at the platform of the Astana International Financial Center and the further development of physical infrastructure of the named companies in Kazakhstan, including the regional data center.
Mamin called on the leadership of the Amazon Web Services for development of cooperation on preparation of staff with the Astana IT University, as well as implementation of projects on the base of the Astana IT Hub.
During the talks with Director of the British Government Digital Service Chris Ferguson, the two discussed issues of exchanging experience in digitalization sphere of civil services, tax system, integration of information system of state bodies and preparation and increasing skills of the IT specialists.
At the meeting with Christopher Fabian, Senior Advisor on Innovation to the Executive Director at UNICEF, the Kazakh PM considered the opening of a regional UNICEF hub on implementation of the GIGA initiative in Kazakhstan aimed at providing general education schools with a speedy access to internet and development of innovation startups.
