AKIPRESS.COM - Five persons were detained in connection with the disorders in Kordai district, Jambyl region, Deputy Prosecutor General Dulat Dembaev told reporters today, Vlast.kz reported.
No one was detained so far in connection with investigation of arsons and murders, he said.
"Five were detained over the Kordai events. Two were detained on hooliganism, beating an elderly people and disobedience to police officers. The investigation is still ongoing on arson, murders," Dembaev said.
The Deputy Prosecutor General admitted the police did not locate the suspects yet.
"Videos are investigated now. The decisions will be made then," he said.
11 people died in the mass disorders in Kordai district that happened in the night of February 7-8. Dozens were injured. More than 120 criminal probes were launched, including 11 probes into murders.
On March 1, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev visited Kordai district and met with Karakemer village citizens, where he blamed the criminal groups for the conflict.
Tokayev ordered to carry out investigation in a strict adherence to the law and to bar fuel smuggling.
