AKIPRESS.COM - United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) decided to grant MNT28.1 million to the Emergency Commission of Gobi-Altai province of Mongolia and educational institutes of the province, Montsame reports. Within the framework of actions to prevent the coronavirus and other infectious diseases, the financial support worth MNT28.1 million is to be given from the UNICEF programme ‘Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH)'. The support will be rendered to all schools, kindergartens, dormitories and primary health units and soum hospitals and the Emergency Department of the aimag.
UNICEF has been implementing ‘Child-friendly Altai' programme in Gobi-Altai aimag from 2017. Within the programme, MNT271 million has been invested in 2019 for ten works to improve local water supply and accessibility and safety of sanitation and hygienic facilities. It is planned to render financing worth USD1.5 million in 2020-2021.
