Smuggling of 95,600 face masks from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan foiled

AKIPRESS.COM - Border guards foiled illegal export of face masks from Kyrgyzstan to Kazakhstan through the Chon-Kapka road checkpoint, the State Border Service said.
Citizens of Kyrgyzstan, 33, was detained on March 13 driving Volvo FM12. During the search of the vehicle, border guards found face masks hidden under the bags with dried fruits.
95,600 face masks without proper documentation with total cost of 1,400,000 soms were found during the search, the statement said.
The government of Kyrgyzstan banned export of drugs and medical means for 6 months starting from 3 Feb 2020.
The seized products and the detainee were handed over to the financial police for further actions.
