AKIPRESS.COM - The emergency situation declared in Kazakhstan since March 16 over 9 COVID-19 cases registered in the country and high risks of further spread of the virus will last for 30 days. It can be extended if necessary, President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev said in his televised address to the nation today. The precautionary measures are stepped up. Functioning of shopping centers will be restricted, but food stores and stores selling first necessity goods will continue working normally.
Entertainment facilities, including movie theaters, theaters, exhibitions and other facilities with big concentration of people are shut down. School students will have earlier break. University students switched to online studies.
"I do ask to treat these measures with understanding," President Tokayev said.
