Businessmen from Osh ask to open border with China where 30 cargo trucks are trapped

AKIPRESS.COM - A group of truck drivers and businessmen from Osh region asks to open the border with China for one day to return their cargo trucks to Kyrgyzstan, Turmush reports. At the press conference in AKIpress Osh, the drivers said their 30 trucks are trapped in Uluu-Chat district of Kyzylsu-Kyrgyz autonomous district of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region of China.
Chairman of the Aidoochular public association Nadir Toktorov says that the Chinese borders on January 23 closed the border on occasion of the New Year celebration. Then Kyrgyz drivers managed to leave the territory of China but their trucks stayed there.
"We have been waiting for almost two months. Now everything is working there as normally, but the borders are still closed," he noted.
The truck drivers say their visas will expire in 15 days.
