Gulnara Karimova handed 13-year prison sentence

AKIPRESS.COM - The Tashkent city court for criminal affairs announced about completion of consideration of Gulnara Karimova's case and her cronies. Gulnara Karimova was sentenced to 13 years and 4 months in prison, the Supreme Court said.
The term of her sentence is counted since 21 August 2015.

Gulnara Karimova's cronies got from 17 to 20 years. Gayana Avakyan was given 5-year suspended sentence.
The Tashkent city court for criminal affairs started consideration of Karimova's case on January 8.
The General Prosecutor's Office said earlier the criminal probe against Gulnara Karimova and other members of her group involved into extortion, misappropriation of public funds, money laundering was completed.
Karimova is held in the Zangiota's women's prison, Tashkent region, since March 2019.
The damage caused by actions of Gulnara Karimova and her cronies is estimated at around $174 million.
