Kyrgyzstan postpones population census for one month

AKIPRESS.COM - The census holding period in Kyrgyzstan was postponed for one month, the President's press service said.
The decision was made at the meeting of President Sooronbai Jeenbekov with Speaker of the Parliament Dastanbek Jumabekov, Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev and leaders of the parliament factions.
The census will be conducted on April 20-29, 2020. Earlier it was planned to be held from March 23 to April 1, 2020.
The National Statistics Committee said that the census will help gather information about a number of population, distribution of citizens on the territories of the country, social and economic situation, national and language structure, as well as education level of the population.
