AKIPRESS.COM - The value of the total volume of mobile telecommunications services decreased by 4.07% in 2019 compared to the same period of 2018, said the State Committee for Information Technology and Communications. According to experts, in recent years there has been a decline in the total volume of traditional telecommunications services, which is also a global trend due to the growing popularity and profitability of the use of Internet services, alternative means of communication such as WhatsApp, Viber and others.
One of the reasons for the decline in the volume of services is the fierce competition between telecom operators leading to drop in prices of services provided, which affects the total revenue of telecom operators.
According to the forecast data of telecom operators, the current trends are expected to continue: the volume of voice, SMS and MMS traffic will go down as will the revenues from these types of services do.
