AKIPRESS.COM - Citizens of Kyrgyzstan returning from Russia in Osh region are quarantined, Osh region governor Uzarbek Jylkybaev said.
The border crossing points with Uzbekistan remain closed, he said.
'Citizens are not allowed to cross the borders now, but cargoes are transported without restrictions. The Uzbek side informs border guards about citizens who can't cross the border. All citizens arriving from Russia are quarantined. Those who arrived earlier went into self-isolation. We did not have possibility to isolate thousands of citizens before. Now we have created such possibility, the Ministry of Emergency Situations is providing food products. Food stores are open," the region governor said.
Jylkybaev said 5,000 rapid tests arrived from China. A half will remain in Bishkek, another part will be shipped to Osh, the governor said.
"Doctors provide medical assistance to citizens who tested positive for coronavirus. We asked districts governors not to allow unnecessary travel of citizens. 50 sanitary and quarantine checkpoints function across Osh region. Police forces were put on high alert. Nookat district is supplied with all necessary protective items. The condition of the infected citizens and citizens under observation is stable," the governor said.
