Jalal-Abad town getting locked down for quarantine

AKIPRESS.COM - Jalal-Abad town is getting locked down for quarantine, entry and exit from the town will be restricted after midnight.
The move is suggested by the town mayor and is aimed to stem coronavirus spread.
Mayor of the town Murataly Tagayev said the locals defied the recommendations to stay home.
"That's why we have decided to restrict entry and exit in the town. Traffic movement will also be suspended. Employees of city institutions and organizations living outside the town will be the only ones to be allowed into the town," he said.
No restrictions on the movement of vehicles carrying food and flour will be applied though, he added.
"We hope for the population's understanding. We are taking such measures for the sake of the residents," he said.
As of March 23, 14 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Kyrgyzstan.
