Tajikistan and Turkmenistan among some 20 coronavirus-free countries in the world

AKIPRESS.COM - The African continent has the largest number of coronavirus-free countries: Libya, Western Sahara, Sierra Leone, Guinea Bissau, Niger, Burundi, Malawi, Mozambique, Botswana, South Sudan reported no cases as of March 24.
No coronavirus-free countries left in the western hemisphere, the cases were reported even on the island of Greenland with the population of 50 thousand people.
Several countries - North Korea, Laos, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Yemen - in Asia remain free of coronavirus.
The most of these countries are authoritarian nations with healthcare systems at low level. Armed conflicts continue in some of them - Libya, South Sudan and Yemen.
As of March 23, 350,000 people tested positive for coronavirus worldwide, more than 15,000 died.
