AKIPRESS.COM - Unidentified people in uniformed forced out around 300 migrant workers from Central Asia from the Domodedovo airport in Moscow in the night of March 31. 200 of them were citizens of Tajikistan, journalist Galia Ibragimova said on Facebook page.
Those people tried to return to the home country, but got stuck in the airport for almost 2 weeks due to the closed borders amid coronavirus pandemic.
Ibragimova said she received a phone call from Tajik migrant worker Farukh, one of those people stranded in Domodedovo airport, who told what had happened.
"We were kicked out of the airport. Some officers in uniform arrived. They ordered to bring all together. When we all gathered, almost 300 people, they just kicked out us into the street. At night. It was cold. They told us: you can't stay at the airport anymore. People are outside now. We do not know what we can do," he said.
Some people did not have money to get to a place where they can stay for some time, he added.
"We work hard in Russia. We rarely have days off. But now we were thrown away like some waste. Please help us!" Farukh told Ibragimova.
He also took a video of people being thrown into the street in the night of March 31.
