The country produced over 20.6 billion kWh of electricity in 2019, this is 4.7% more than in 2018.
Hydropower plants generated over 19.1 million kWh of electricity.
Thermal power plants produced over 1.5 billion kWh of electricity.
Tajikistan earned more than $91.3 million in 2019 on export of electricity to the neighboring countries.
Electricity was exported to Uzbekistan, Afghanistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The country hopes to export over 3 billion kWh of electricity this year.
