Construction of 280-bed hospital starts in Almaty

AKIPRESS.COM - Construction of a 280-bed hospital has started in Almaty. Mayor Bakytzhan Sagintayev visited the construction site, Kazinform reported. The decision to start construction of a hospital was made by the special commission for state of emergency under the President of Kazakhstan as part of fight against coronavirus.
Quickly erectable structures will be used in construction, which will allow to finish construction of a quarantine center for a short period of time.
Those who contacted the infected patients and suspected coronavirus cases will be taken to this hospital.
"Such hospital will allow us to timely detect, isolate and treat the infected. This way we will be able to reduce the risk of spread of infection and to stabilize the epidemiological situation in the country," mayor Sagintayev said.
