AKIPRESS.COM - The demand for fuel has dropped dramatically in Kyrgyzstan since coronavirus lockdown, said Executive Director of the Oil Traders Association Kanat Eshatov. Sales of oil traders decreased by almost 80% due to the shutdown of public transport and reduction in the movement of citizens by personal vehicles.
"Some oil traders say their sales fell 5-6 times. Large oil traders say their sales fell by 80%. The fuel and lubricants market also incurs large losses," he said.
Fuel for farmers engaged in spring sowing campaign is in enough volumes, he said.
As for the fuel prices, Eshatov said global commodity prices are dropping.
