Kyrgyzstan has shortage of ventilators, Prime Minister says

AKIPRESS.COM - To date, Kyrgyzstan has a shortage of ventilators, said Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev at a meeting of the nation-wide operative team to contain coronavirus April 11.
"We are ready to work with private hospitals and their personnel, with laboratories that wok in accordance with the requirements of the World Health Organization," he said.
Prime Minister noted that there are also many people who want to help. "We are talking about financial resources. As of April 8, 2020, 123 million soms were transferred to two accounts. All of them will be allocated to the medicine. The special commission has been created for the transparency, which includes senior officials of the government office and lawmakers. The first tranche of 38.5 million soms was spent on premiums for doctors and nurses," Abilgaziev said.
Previously, the Health Ministry reported that healthcare organizations of Kyrgyzstan have some 630 ventilators.
