AKIPRESS.COM - President Kasym-Jomart Tokayev has signed the order extending the state of emergency in Kazakhstan until 7.00 am of May 1, Akorda reported.
Tokayev announced the intention to extend the state of emergency last Friday saying it is a necessary measure.
The state commission for state of emergency also made the decision to extend quarantine in Nur-Sultan, Almaty and Shymkent.
The President tasked the government together with local administrations to work on gradual restoration of work of enterprises and organizations in these cities.
The state of emergency was declared in Kazakhstan since March 16.
Shopping centers, movie theaters, museums and entertainment facilities are closed, sport and other mass events are prohibited, the entry to and exit from Kazakhstan is restricted for Kazakh citizens and foreign nationals.
Affected businesses are offered tax holidays until October 1. Citizens remaining jobless or whose financial position deteriorated with state of emergency will receive a social benefit of 42,500 tenge, minimum salary.
Nur-Sultan and Almaty were locked down since March 22. Shymkent and other cities and regions of the country were then locked down as well.
Kazakhstan has so far confirmed 1,179 coronavirus cases, 14 lethal cases. 142 patients recovered.
