23,000 families receive food packages, 6,000 families get flour - government

AKIPRESS.COM - Food assistance is provided to needy citizens in all regions and towns of Kyrgyzstan, the government said on April 17. 23,177 needy families received assistance in Bishkek. 99.65 tons of flour, 37.8 tons of pasta, 26,677 liters of cooking oil, 26.6 tons of rice, 22.3 tons of sugar, 1 ton of tea, 7.7 tons of peas, 3.3 tons of buckwheat, 402 kilos of meat, 250 cans of condensed milk, 3,418 kilos of potatoes, 372 stock cubes were distributed.
300 tons of flour from the state reserve were distributed among 6,000 families.
70 tons of flour and 8.4 tons of sugar were distributed among 2,800 households on Bishkek outskirts. The total assistance amounted to 2.7 million soms.
Humanitarian aid was provided in form of medical supplies, including 60,440 masks, 1,045 liters of antiseptics, 50 goggles, 357 reusable protective coveralls, 2,149 disposable coveralls, 7,000 shoe covers, 9,500 tongue depressors.
11,667 needy families received assistance in Osh. 190 tons of flour, 11,000 kilos of pasta, 11,000 liters of cooking oil, 5,200 kilos of rice, 4,400 kilos of sugar, 808 kilos of meat, 40,750 kilos of potates were distributed among needy families. The total sum of assistance reached 13.855 million soms. Some 10.712 million soms were transferred to the special account of the mayor's office.
Other humanitarian aid in Osh was valued at 2.968 million soms and included antiseptics, face masks, protective coveralls, gloves and other supplies.
Over 2,571 tons of flour, 25,888 kilos of pasta, 90,875 liters of cooking oil, 36,396 tons of rice, 10,781 kilos of sugar, 4,816 kilos of meat, 31,600 tons of potatos were distributed among 62,087 needy families in Osh region. The financial assistance totaled 829,146 soms.
Other aid included antiseptics, disinfectants, 3,339 protective coveralls, 378,080 pairs of gloves, 237,598 masks.
503.431 tons of flour, 24,592 kilos of pasta, 31,574 liters of cooking oil, 15,544 kilos of rice, 25,031 kilos of sugar, 3,616 kilos of meart, 17,498 kg of potatoes, 1,370 kilos of sweets were distributed among 23,681 needy families in Chui region. Besides, 6 sheeps and 10 cows were handed over.
Other aid included antiseptics and disinfectants, 113,185 masks, 2,524 protective coveralls, 62,466 gloves, 92 thermal scanners, 760 goggles.
55,807 families in Jalal-Abad region received 58 tons of flour, 20,140 kilos of pasta, 40,834 liters of cooking oil, 6,756 kilos of rice, 6,756 kg of sugar, 2,040 kg of meat, 18,771 kg of potatoes. The total assistance is valued at 5.647 million soms.
Other aid included 291,190 masks, antiseptics, 4,128 protective coveralls, 25,972 gloves, 2 ambulance cars for hospitals.
Kaz Minerals Bozymchak provided 11 tons of flour, Full Gold Mining provided 25 tons of flour and 25,000 masks. Needy families received 28 tons from businesses.
556.3 tons of flour, 15,262 kilos of pasta, 27,398 liters of cooking oil, 3,366 kilos of rice, 3,918 kg of sugar, 1,493 kg of meat, 2,765 kg of potatoes were distributed among 10,649 needy families in Batken region. The provided assistance valued at 4.216 million soms.
Other aid included 93,537 masks, 1,678 protective coveralls, 12,276 gloves, antiseptics and disinfectants.
17,209 needy families in Issyk-Kul region received 504.53 tons of flour, 24.31 tons of pasta, 17,831 liters of cooking oil, 8.032 tons of rice, 9.080 tons of sugar, 1.472 tons of meat, 9,045 kilos of potatoes.
Other aid included 102,235 masks, 2,569 protective coveralls, 165,088 gloves.
Sponsors provided food packages to 360 poor families. 800 masks, 1,000 reusable masks, 20 protective coveralls, 20 goggles, 1,000 gloves, antiseptics were delivered to population in Ton district. 1,200 families received food assistance for 1.2 million soms.
495 tons of flour, 11,181 kilos of pasta, 18,517 liters of cooking oil, 3,210 tons of rice, 4,983 tons of sugar, 968 kilos of meat, 360 kg of tea were distributed among 9,959 needy families in Naryn region.
Other aid included 121,874 masks, 16,524 gloves, antiseptics and disinfectants.
3,188 needy families received 232.2 tons of flour, 4,185 kilos of pasta, 3,306 liters of cooking oil, 5,141 kilos of rice, 500 kilos of sugar, 800 kg of meat, 100 tea packs in Talas region. The asistance totaled 6.34 million soms.
Other aid included 65,180 masks, 1,403 liters of antiseptics, 670 protective suits, 3,705 gloves.
