AKIPRESS.COM - On April 21, Deputy Prime Minister of Mongolia U.Enkhtuvshin received Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China Chai Wenrui. Expressing his gratitude to the Ambassador for China's support in combating and preventing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, Deputy Prime Minister said "The fight against and prevention of the pandemic is a priority, but at the same time, it is important for both countries to intensify the economy. There is a need to increase exports of mining products to China. In the past, 1,500-1,700 trucks transported products a day to China, but today there are about 100 trucks a day. Therefore, I am asking you to take this issue into consideration".
Ambassador Chai Wenrui conveyed China's praise on Mongolia's effective and timely response to the situation caused by COVID-19 pandemic and said "We promise to increase the coal transportation. At the local level, coordination between the border crossings of the two countries could increase the number of transportation."
During the meeting, a donation of two thermographic cameras made by Chinese "Dahua Technology" company was handed over to the State Emergency Commission. The market price of each thermographic camera is USD 40 thousand or MNT 110 million. The camera, capable to measure body temperatures of 15 people at the same time, is being widely used at airports and hospitals in more than 100 countries around the world, according to the Deputy Prime Minister's Office.
