AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan-born Russian billionaire Alisher Usmanov will donate $5 million to Uzbekistan for COVID-19, Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Kuchkarov told the International Press Club today, Kun.uz reported. "We received 600 billion soums in donations. Particularly, Alisher Usmanov provided $20 million. $5 million on his behalf will arrive today. These funds will be used to equip the hospital under construction in Zangiata district. Besides, UzTex donated $1 million, Bakht Textile from Navoi donated $500,000. Tashkent Trade Center donated $200,000," Kuchkarov said.
The donations transferred to the Mercy and Health fund surpassed 71 billion soums, the Deputy Prime Minister said.
