Car imports to Mongolia 28.8% down in April

AKIPRESS.COM - As of April 21, imports to Mongolia declined by 11.2% year on year, Montsame reports citing the customs statistics. Imports of automobiles decreased by 28.8%. About 16,850 cars have been imported to the country since January this year.
Imports of heavy-duty vehicles and equipment decreased by 13.5%, as reported earlier by the Mongolian Customs General Administration that international shipping has disrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Moreover, imports of fuel and diesel declined amid falling oil prices. During the reference period, a total of 147.9 thousand tons of fuel was imported, showing a decrease of 16.6 percent compared to the same period of the previous year. The import of diesel dropped by 20.8 percent during the same period.
